Of course. It's the obvious choice.

But here's the deal: we improve what's already there, for the first phase. You don't necessarily need to add power when you can better utilize what's already on the table. What we need to do is build something that serves as an improvement, something that can take what's already there to work with and better amplify it. Enhancement.

Of course ultimately we'd want to slurp some more up like a particularly interesting soup, but before we get there, we have to start here. I was working on similar technology before I ended up here, so I know what I'm doing.

I'm intentionally being vague to be overly careful, but you should be able to figure out exactly what I mean.

What needs more power?
evilgrows: (check it out)

Aim higher.

Not take, not yet. Amplify. Enhance. Evolve.

We've discussed it. I have to run all concepts by him first, but he's willing to try.

Are you?

Thinking is a very significant part of what I do. It would be incredibly stupid to actually put something together without at least putting in some consideration.

Mainly, I need your experience *here*. You're likely to be one of the ones with the best grasp of how things work around here. What's been tried, what hasn't, what might work with a little more tweaking.

No point in repeating history if we can't make it work, right?
evilgrows: (heh heh)

You'll find I'm full of points.

So you act as historian, I do the hard work, we make some improvements and get things done. Sounds like a plan.

Nobody's memory is. At least not by my standards. It'll have to do. Even if your part is just saying "we already did that one, it's incompatible" every so often.
evilgrows: (lookin over there)

It's entirely up to you if you do or not. But if we want to dramatically decrease prep time, having a baseline is ideal.
evilgrows: (what time is it)

That checks out. Either way, I'm looking forward to getting something done.

[He doesn't say "looking forward to working with you" because that'd be a lie.]

Good. I'll let you know once I have something more solid.
