[Good lord. He really doesn't get it, does he? He's just LIKE THIS.]
It's a matter of tone. Even if you don't use the words "I'm sorry", tone is important in making an apology sound sincere and intentionally or not, you've missed the mark.
I'm not trying to be insensitive when I say that you're not meant to hear things like tone when you're reading words on a screen. You realize that, right? That is, you're not learning this for the very first time now?
[GOD. He would love to believe Linden is trying, he really would, if only because it would make him stop wondering if he's just being paranoid or not - but the phrasing can't not be a jab at him, right? "You're not meant to hear things"? Really?]
You should really find more writers for your newspaper, because frankly, with that way of thinking, I'm not sure how long you can keep it going.
Do me a favor. If you ever find me in Hell again, just leave me there. It would be better than trying to navigate the puzzle box of an apology you're demanding.
Is this something that happens a lot? Someone apologizes to you in good faith, and the power instantly goes to your head and endows you with a disproportionate sense of entitlement?
I'm VERY sorry if that's how it came across. I can't say I noticed anything going to my head, and it wasn't my intention to sound entitled, but I understand that tone is hard to convey in text. That's exactly why I try to be mindful of how my words can be interpreted. It takes practice, but it's an important skill.

I'm not demanding anything, I'm trying to explain the issue!

I admit I can have some trouble making myself understood at times yes
[SEE, IT'S NOT HARD TO BE HUMBLE]

I'm not holding it over your head and saying that it wasn't good enough the first time, like some kind of really terrible person.
<marco>
Thank you for understanding.
<LindenTailor>
Just say that you accept my apology.
<marco>
I accept your apology.
