I'm not much of an engineer, but I have experience as a programmer and I can get the hang of new languages relatively quickly.

Thinking is a very significant part of what I do. It would be incredibly stupid to actually put something together without at least putting in some consideration.

Mainly, I need your experience *here*. You're likely to be one of the ones with the best grasp of how things work around here. What's been tried, what hasn't, what might work with a little more tweaking.
